What does Nehemiah 7:59 mean?

This verse is part of a long genealogical list that the priest Ezra reads to the people after they've returned from exile in Babylon. The names represent families or clans who are coming home to rebuild Jerusalem and resettle the land. These weren't necessarily famous or powerful groups, but their names mattered enough to be recorded, showing that God kept track of ordinary people too. Being included in this list meant you had a rightful claim to the land and a place in the restored community.
