Nehemiah 6:4
βThey sent to me four times like this; and I answered them the same way.β
What does Nehemiah 6:4 mean?
Nehemiah was trying to rebuild Jerusalem's walls while facing opposition from surrounding leaders who wanted to stop the work. They kept sending him messages demanding he leave his post and meet with them, and four times they made the same request using the same manipulative approach. Each time, Nehemiah gave them the same firm answer: he wasn't going to abandon what God had called him to do. There's real comfort here for anyone dealing with persistent pressure or repeated attempts to derail them from something important. Nehemiah didn't get worn down or change his story, even when the pressure came again and again. Sometimes staying faithful means saying the same "no" multiple times, with the same quiet certainty, until the people trying to distract you finally get the message and move on.
