Nehemiah 5:2

What does Nehemiah 5:2 mean?
The people rebuilding Jerusalem's walls were facing a real crisis: they were hungry. This complaint comes from families who couldn't afford food while doing the hard labor of reconstruction, and they're asking their leaders (including Nehemiah) to help them buy grain to survive.
