What does Nehemiah 3:11 mean?
Nehemiah 3 is largely a list of who rebuilt which sections of Jerusalem's broken walls after exile, and this verse is part of that catalog. Malchijah and Hasshub were among many ordinary people (priests, perfumers, goldsmiths, merchants) who stepped up to restore their city's defenses by contributing their labor and skills.
