Nehemiah 12:43
“They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women and the children also rejoiced; so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even far away.”
What does Nehemiah 12:43 mean?
The people of Jerusalem had just finished rebuilding their city walls after years of hardship and opposition, and this verse captures their explosive celebration. They brought generous offerings to God and felt genuine, overwhelming gladness, not because everything was suddenly perfect, but because they recognized God's hand in what they'd accomplished together.
