Micah 4:12

But they don’t know the thoughts of Yahweh, neither do they understand his counsel; for he has gathered them like the sheaves to the threshing floor.

What does Micah 4:12 mean?

The enemies and oppressors of God's people think they're in control, making their own plans, but they're actually walking straight into God's purposes, which they can't see or understand. God has allowed them to gather together like bundles of grain on a threshing floor, a place where grain gets separated from its chaff through a process of breaking down. The image suggests that what looks like human scheming and strength will ultimately be processed and judged by God's hand, even though those doing the scheming have no idea it's coming. This was meant to encourage Micah's listeners that their enemies' apparent power is temporary and will be overturned by God's hidden but unstoppable plan.
