What does Matthew 8:28 mean?
Jesus had just crossed a lake when he encountered two men living among the tombs who were tormented by demons. The Gospel describes them as so violently disturbed that people avoided the entire area, unable to safely travel through. This wasn't a quiet spiritual struggle but something visibly terrifying and physically dangerous that had essentially isolated these men from normal community life. What makes this encounter significant is that despite their frightening condition, Jesus doesn't turn away or send them elsewhere. The fact that these men "met him" suggests they were drawn toward him, even in their suffering.
