What does Matthew 26:2 mean?

Jesus is speaking to his disciples about what's about to happen, and he's being direct about it. He's telling them that in two days the Passover feast begins, and he knows that during this time he will be arrested, tried, and crucified. Though the disciples have heard Jesus predict his death before, this moment carries weight because it's happening soon—he's not speaking in distant hypotheticals anymore, but about immediate events unfolding. Even as he speaks calmly, there's a sense that Jesus is walking deliberately toward what he knows must come, fully aware of the suffering ahead.
