What does Matthew 26:10 mean?
A woman has just poured expensive perfume on Jesus' head, and his disciples are upset about the waste, the cost, the seeming impropriety. Jesus sees their criticism and gently redirects them. He's asking: why are you making this harder for her? She understands something you don't right now. In a moment of genuine love and devotion, she's given what she had, and that matters far more than the ledger of whether it made practical sense. Jesus is defending her against judgment and inviting his followers to recognize kindness when they see it, even when their minds immediately calculate the loss.
