What does Matthew 25:7 mean?
In Jesus's parable, the ten young women waiting for a wedding celebration suddenly realize the bridegroom is coming. The five who prepared ahead had brought extra oil, while the others hadn't. When the cry goes out, all of them wake up and begin trimming their lamps, clearing away the charred wicks and making the flames burn brighter. It's a moment of sudden awareness and last-minute scrambling, but for some it's too late to get what they actually needed. The parable invites us to think about what kind of preparation matters in life, and whether we're building spiritual readiness gradually or hoping to catch up in a crisis.
