What does Matthew 24:17 mean?

Jesus is describing the chaos and danger of Jerusalem's fall, telling people that when disaster strikes, there won't be time to gather belongings. If you're on a rooftop (where people commonly went in that culture), you should flee immediately rather than risk your life running back inside to collect possessions. The point is that survival matters infinitely more than stuff, and in moments of crisis, hesitation can be deadly. It's a stark reminder that we can't hold onto material things when our lives are at stake, and sometimes faith means leaving everything behind and trusting God in uncertainty.
