What does Matthew 17:2 mean?
In this moment, Jesus' closest followers witnessed something that broke through the ordinary world: his appearance transformed into something radiant and heavenly, his face brilliant as the sun itself and his clothes glowing white. This wasn't a trick of light or imagination, but a real glimpse of Jesus' divine nature, usually hidden beneath his human form. Matthew is showing us that the man walking among them, teaching and healing, was far more than he seemed on the surface.
