What does Matthew 10:35 mean?
Jesus is describing the painful reality that following him sometimes creates conflict even within families. He's not saying he wants to destroy families, but rather that choosing to follow him wholeheartedly might put you at odds with family members who don't share that commitment or who oppose your faith. This happens because faith can shift your values, priorities, and decisions in ways that loved ones may not understand or accept.
