What does Mark 9:6 mean?
Peter's reaction here captures something very human: when we're overwhelmed or terrified, words simply fail us. He's just witnessed Jesus transfigured in radiant light alongside Moses and Elijah, and his instinct is to do something, to say something, to make sense of the moment, but fear has stolen his ability to speak clearly. Sometimes the most honest response to encountering something far greater than ourselves is a stunned silence, even if we feel pressure to have the right words ready. This reminds us that it's okay not to have it all figured out when we're in the presence of something sacred or frightening.
