Mark 16:6
“He said to them, “Don’t be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him!”
What does Mark 16:6 mean?
The angel at Jesus's tomb is speaking to the women who came early in the morning expecting to find his body. His words are meant to calm their fear and confusion, acknowledging that what they're about to hear will seem impossible. He's telling them the core truth of Christianity: Jesus didn't stay dead, but rose from the grave on the third day, exactly as he had predicted. The angel points to the empty tomb as evidence, inviting them to see for themselves that the place where Jesus was buried is now vacant. For people in any season of life, this message carries hope that death and finality don't have the last word in God's story.
