They went away and told it to the rest. They didn’t believe them, either.

What does Mark 16:13 mean?

When the disciples who encountered the risen Jesus tried to share the good news with the others, they ran into immediate skepticism. The people listening simply couldn't accept what seemed impossible, even coming from people they knew. This moment captures something very human and very honest: witnessing something extraordinary often triggers doubt in those who weren't there, especially when it challenges everything they thought was fixed and final about death. It's a reminder that faith rarely comes easily, even among those closest to the action, and that encountering Jesus' resurrection wasn't a one-time event that automatically convinced everyone, but rather an unfolding process where people had to work through their own disbelief.
