What does Mark 12:35 mean?
Jesus poses a question that might seem puzzling at first, but he's gently challenging an assumption his listeners held dear. The religious teachers of his time taught that the promised Messiah would be a descendant of King David, which was based on Old Testament prophecies. But Jesus is asking them to think more deeply: if the Messiah is merely David's son, how can he also be David's Lord, as the Psalms suggest?
