What does Mark 12:10 mean?
Jesus is quoting an old psalm here, using the image of construction workers rejecting a stone that turns out to be absolutely essential. The builders thought it was worthless and cast it aside, but it became the cornerstone, the stone that holds everything together and gives the building its strength and direction. He's talking about himself in this moment, speaking to religious leaders who are actively rejecting him.
