What does Mark 11:1 mean?
Jesus is approaching Jerusalem for what will be the final week of his earthly life, and he's deliberately orchestrating his arrival. He sends two disciples ahead to secure a donkey, which sets up the famous Palm Sunday scene where he enters the city in a humble but symbolically significant way. This moment matters because Jesus isn't sneaking into Jerusalem or arriving as a conquering military figure, but rather as a teacher and prophet whose kingdom operates differently than people expect.
