What does Mark 10:1 mean?
Jesus had been traveling and teaching in Galilee, and now he's moving into Judea, the southern region where Jerusalem is located. This marks a significant shift in his ministry, a movement toward the events that will unfold in the capital. Despite the long journey and whatever tension might have surrounded his travels, people immediately gathered around him again, drawn by his reputation and hungry to hear what he had to say. What stands out here is the simple phrase "as he usually did." Even as circumstances change and Jesus moves through different territories, his core work remains constant: he teaches. He doesn't let travel or logistics or shifting circumstances pull him away from what he came to do.
