Malachi 2:4
“You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies.”
What does Malachi 2:4 mean?
God is speaking to the priests of Israel (the descendants of Levi) and reminding them that their role comes directly from him. When they faithfully keep the covenant, uphold justice, and lead people well, they'll experience the reality of God's presence and blessing in their lives—and others will see it too. This verse is part of a rebuke, because the priests had become careless and corrupt, yet God's offer remains: if they return to integrity, they'll know his covenant relationship with them is real and active.
