Malachi 1:5
“Your eyes will see, and you will say, “Yahweh is great—even beyond the border of Israel!””
What does Malachi 1:5 mean?
Malachi wrote these words during a time when the people of Israel felt small and forgotten, living under foreign rule and struggling to see God's hand at work in their lives. The prophet is telling them that their own eyes will eventually witness God's power extending far beyond their own nation's borders, affecting the whole world. When that day comes, they won't be able to deny or doubt God's greatness anymore, because the evidence will be right in front of them. This is an invitation to trust that God's purposes are bigger and more far-reaching than whatever circumstances currently surround them.
