What does Luke 8:52 mean?
Jesus is speaking about a young girl who has just died, and his words probably sound strange or even harsh at first. When he says she's "sleeping" rather than dead, he's not denying the reality of what people are seeing, but pointing to a deeper truth: her death isn't final or permanent the way everyone assumes. He's inviting them to see this moment through God's perspective instead of their own grief.
