“Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ””
What does Luke 8:45 mean?
In this moment, Jesus has just healed a woman who reached through the crowd to touch his clothing in faith. When he asks who touched him, the disciples are confused, practically saying, "Everyone's bumping into you, Master, so how would we know?" What makes this scene powerful is that Jesus isn't asking because he didn't know what happened. He felt healing power go out from him and wanted the woman to come forward and be acknowledged. Among all those bodies pressing against him, one touch mattered enough for him to notice, and he wanted her to know she was seen. It's a quiet reminder that our faith and our reaching out toward Jesus doesn't get lost in the crowd, even when we feel hidden or unimportant.
