What does Luke 8:20 mean?
When Jesus' family showed up looking for him, they had to wait outside the crowded house. Jesus used this ordinary family moment to teach something deeper: that spiritual connection matters more than biological ties. In the verses that follow, he explains that those who hear God's word and live it out are his true family, not just those related by blood. This doesn't mean Jesus didn't love his mother and brothers. Rather, he's redirecting people's attention toward what actually transforms us, which is listening to God and letting that transform how we live.
