What does Luke 6:39 mean?
Jesus is warning about the danger of following leaders who lack wisdom or spiritual understanding. When someone who is spiritually blind tries to guide others who are also blind to truth, they're all headed toward disaster together. The image is vivid and simple: if no one can see where they're going, the whole group ends up in the pit. This applies to any area where we might follow someone just because they seem confident or popular, without checking whether they actually know what they're talking about. It's a gentle invitation to think carefully about who influences us and to seek wisdom from sources that are actually trustworthy and grounded in truth.
