Luke 5:9
βFor he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught;β
What does Luke 5:9 mean?
Simon Peter had been fishing all night without success, and his boat was empty. Then Jesus told him to cast his nets into the deeper water, and suddenly they pulled in so many fish that the nets began to tear and both boats started sinking under the weight. Peter's amazement wasn't just about the abundance of fish, it was the shock of witnessing something that defied natural explanation, coming from someone he was only beginning to know. In that moment, he and everyone around him recognized they were in the presence of someone with power beyond the ordinary, which is why this catch became a turning point that led Peter to leave everything and follow Jesus.
