What does Luke 4:31 mean?

Jesus moves to Capernaum, a fishing town on the Sea of Galilee, and immediately begins teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath. This shows us something important about how Jesus operated: he didn't wait for the perfect circumstances or build a large platform first. He simply went to where people naturally gathered for worship and spoke truth there. The Sabbath synagogue was the center of Jewish community life, so this was where Jesus could reach people in their regular rhythms of faith and practice. What follows in the next verses are healings and confrontations with spiritual darkness, showing that Jesus' teaching wasn't just words but carried real spiritual power.
