Luke 4:13
“When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.”
What does Luke 4:13 mean?
After exhausting every angle of temptation against Jesus in the wilderness, Satan stepped back, but the wording here is important: he left "until another time." This isn't a permanent victory or a sign that temptation was finally over. Luke is telling us that spiritual opposition comes in waves, and the enemy looks for openings when circumstances shift or defenses weaken. For anyone reading this while in a hard season, this verse speaks honestly about how struggle works. The immediate pressure might ease, but that doesn't mean we're finished growing or that vigilance becomes unnecessary. What matters is that Jesus stood firm through this particular trial, and his example shows that resistance is possible.
