What does Luke 3:30 mean?

This is part of Jesus's family tree, tracing his lineage backward through generations. Luke includes these genealogies to show that Jesus belonged to the line of David and fulfilled Old Testament promises about the Messiah. While most of these names appear nowhere else in Scripture, they represent real people across centuries whose lives, though unrecorded, were part of God's patient, purposeful plan leading to Jesus. Reading through these names can remind us that God works through ordinary lives and long obedience, not just the famous figures we remember.
