What does Luke 23:11 mean?
When Jesus was brought to Herod (the local ruler), rather than taking the accusation seriously, Herod treated the whole thing as entertainment. He and his soldiers made fun of Jesus, putting fancy robes on him as if he were a joke or pretend king, then passed him back to Pilate like he was someone else's problem. This moment shows the casual cruelty that power can produce, especially when someone is already defenseless and the crowd has turned against them. For those of us who know Christ, it's a reminder that Jesus endured mockery and humiliation as part of his willingness to take on our suffering. Even in his darkest moments, he stayed faithful to what he came to do.
