What does Luke 22:33 mean?
Peter is making a bold promise to Jesus, convinced he has the courage to follow him anywhere, even into suffering and death. This happens just before Jesus predicts that Peter will deny knowing him three times, which is one of the Bible's most striking moments of confidence meeting reality. Peter genuinely believes what he's saying in this moment, yet he's about to discover that good intentions and actual strength under pressure are two different things. His words remind us how easy it is to promise loyalty when we're not yet tested, and how much we need God's grace when our own resolve falls short.
