What does Luke 21:36 mean?
Jesus is calling his followers to stay spiritually alert and connected to God through prayer, especially during uncertain or difficult times. The "things that will happen" refers to the troubles and upheaval he's been describing, but his point isn't to live in fear. Rather, he's saying that a life of active prayer and faithful watching keeps us grounded in what matters most: our relationship with God and our readiness to face whatever comes. There's something tender in the phrase "counted worthy." Jesus isn't suggesting we earn our way to safety through perfect behavior. Instead, he's inviting us into an ongoing conversation with God where we stay honest about our struggles, ask for strength, and keep turning back to him.
