What does Luke 21:26 mean?
Jesus is describing a time of overwhelming upheaval and anxiety, when people will be so gripped by dread about global chaos that they literally lose strength and hope. The "powers of the heavens" refers to the cosmic order itself seeming to come undone, which was the ancient way of expressing total catastrophic change.
