What does Luke 19:14 mean?
In this verse from Jesus's parable of the ten minas, a nobleman has gone away to receive a kingdom and will return. His own subjects, however, actively reject him while he's gone, sending messengers to declare they refuse his rule. It's a sharp image of resistance and rebellion from those who should be his natural followers. The parable uses this rejection to explore how people respond to Jesus himself.
