Luke 18:27
“But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.””
What does Luke 18:27 mean?
Jesus speaks these words after telling a rich young ruler that it's easier for a camel to pass through a needle's eye than for a wealthy person to enter God's kingdom. The disciples are shocked and ask who then can be saved, assuming wealth and status are signs of God's favor. Jesus reminds them that human limitations and logic don't set the boundaries of what God can do. This is deeply comforting when we face situations that feel truly stuck. Maybe you're struggling with an addiction, a broken relationship, a persistent illness, or a dream that seems impossible by every practical measure. Jesus isn't offering magical thinking, but rather an invitation to trust that God operates according to different rules than the ones we see around us. What looks permanently fixed to us can be transformed by grace. The point isn't that you should passively wait for a miracle while doing nothing, but that you're not confined to human resources alone as you move forward.
