What does Luke 17:30 mean?
Jesus is describing what the end times will look like—sudden, unexpected, and all-consuming for those unprepared. He's comparing it to the days of Noah and Lot, when life went on normally until judgment came without warning. The point isn't to cause fear but to encourage readiness: we're meant to live faithfully now, not get caught up in the material concerns and priorities that distracted people back then. When Jesus returns, it won't be a gradual fading but a clear, unmistakable revelation that changes everything.
