What does Luke 13:26 mean?
In this moment, people are standing before Jesus at the final judgment, desperately trying to claim a connection to him. They're saying, in essence, "We were around you. We saw you teach. We benefited from your presence." It's a claim based on proximity and exposure, but Jesus will reject it because they never actually followed him or lived according to his teachings. The hard truth here is that being near Jesus, or even witnessing his work, doesn't guarantee a real relationship with him. What matters isn't having been in the same room or having heard the right words, but whether we've genuinely opened our hearts to him and let his teachings reshape how we live.
