Luke 11:28
“But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.””
What does Luke 11:28 mean?
Jesus gently redirects someone who had just called out that his mother was blessed. Instead of dwelling on family relationships, he points to something deeper and more universally accessible: the real blessing comes from hearing God's word and actually living by it. He's not diminishing his mother, but expanding the circle of who can experience true joy and fulfillment. When we listen to what God says and then let it shape how we live, we discover a kind of wholeness that no external circumstance can take away.
