Luke 11:26

Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”

What does Luke 11:26 mean?

Jesus is describing what happens when someone gets rid of one problem, but then leaves their life empty instead of filling it with something good. The demon who left comes back with reinforcements, finding the house swept clean but unoccupied, and moves back in with others worse than itself. It's a warning that simply removing something harmful isn't enough, we need to actively replace it with what's true and good, or we risk ending up in a worse place than we started. This applies to any destructive pattern, habit, or mindset we try to quit without putting something constructive in its place.
