Luke 11:15
“But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.””
What does Luke 11:15 mean?
When Jesus healed someone by casting out a demon, some people in the crowd immediately accused him of doing it through demonic power rather than divine power. They were suggesting he was secretly working with Satan (Beelzebul was another name for the devil) to accomplish what looked like healing. It's a strange accusation when you think about it, since why would evil forces help free someone from evil, but it shows how desperate people can be to dismiss or discredit something they don't understand or don't want to believe in. This moment reveals how our minds sometimes work harder to protect our existing doubts than to stay open to what's actually happening in front of us.
