“Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.”
What does Luke 10:7 mean?
Jesus is teaching his disciples about traveling and sharing the gospel without anxiety. When you're welcomed into someone's home, stay there rather than constantly searching for better accommodations or hospitality, because that restlessness can undermine your message and exhaust your hosts. The principle here cuts both ways: those who work deserve fair support for their labor, and workers shouldn't be so focused on getting more that they miss genuine community or take advantage of generosity. This speaks to something deeply human.
