What does Luke 10:33 mean?
A Jewish person lay wounded on the road, and two religious leaders passed by without helping. Then came a Samaritan, someone from a group that Jews typically despised and avoided. What makes this moment so powerful is that this outsider, this person who had every reason to stay distant, felt genuine compassion well up inside him when he saw the suffering. His heart moved him to act, breaking through centuries of tension and prejudice between their peoples. Jesus tells this story to show us that real love isn't about following the rules or belonging to the "right" group, it's about being willing to see another person's pain and letting it matter to you.
