Luke 10:12
“I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.”
What does Luke 10:12 mean?
Jesus is responding to towns that reject his message and the people he sends to share it. He's saying that refusing hospitality and openness to God's good news is a serious matter, serious enough that even notoriously wicked Sodom will face lighter judgment than cities that hear about Jesus and turn away. This isn't meant to terrify but to emphasize how precious the opportunity to know God really is, and how our response to that opportunity matters deeply. It's a sobering reminder that proximity to grace carries real responsibility.
