What does Luke 1:74 mean?

Zechariah is praying about what God's coming salvation will actually look like in everyday life. He's saying that freedom from our enemies isn't just about safety, but about the ability to worship and serve God openly and without anxiety. When you're living under threat or oppression, fear consumes your attention and energy, leaving little room for genuine devotion. The promise here is that deliverance means getting your life back, being able to turn toward God with your whole heart instead of constantly looking over your shoulder. It's a beautiful reminder that spiritual freedom and physical safety are connected, and that God cares about both.
