Luke 1:36
βBehold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.β
What does Luke 1:36 mean?
The angel Gabriel is speaking to Mary, telling her something extraordinary: her elderly relative Elizabeth, who had been unable to have children, is now six months pregnant. This announcement comes right before Gabriel tells Mary she'll conceive Jesus, so it serves as a sign that God specializes in the impossible. Elizabeth's pregnancy, humanly speaking, should never have happened, yet here it is, real and undeniable. The point is that Mary isn't being asked to believe in something without any earthly evidence of how God works, because God has already done the "impossible" for someone she knows.
