Leviticus 5:13
“The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned in any of these things, and he will be forgiven; and the rest shall be the priest’s, as the meal offering.’””
What does Leviticus 5:13 mean?
When someone couldn't afford the normal sacrifice for sin, God made room for them to bring something simpler, like flour for a meal offering. The priest would offer part of it to God and keep the rest as their own provision, which meant even poor people weren't shut out from seeking forgiveness. This shows that God's system of atonement wasn't designed to punish people for being poor, but to welcome everyone regardless of their means. Whether you brought an animal or a handful of grain, the same forgiveness was available to you.
