Leviticus 3:10
“and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away.”
What does Leviticus 3:10 mean?
This verse describes the specific parts of an animal offering that belong to God in an ancient sacrifice. In the worship practices described in Leviticus, the fat and certain internal organs were considered the choicest portions, reserved for burning on the altar rather than eaten by the person making the offering. By giving these valuable parts back to God, the worshipper was expressing that their gratitude and devotion came before their own benefit. It's a beautiful picture of saying to God: "The best is yours first, not what's left over."
