What does Leviticus 26:32 mean?

God is warning the Israelites through Moses about what happens when they turn away from him: the land itself will become barren and broken, a place of emptiness rather than abundance. Even the enemies who might occupy it will be shocked by how thoroughly it has been laid waste, unable to thrive there themselves. It's a sobering picture of how disconnection from God doesn't just affect people spiritually, but ripples outward into everything they depend on, including the very ground beneath their feet. For those reading this today, it can speak to how our choices have real consequences in the world around us, though it also reminds us that God doesn't abandon his people without warning.
