Leviticus 23:3
““‘Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no kind of work. It is a Sabbath to Yahweh in all your dwellings.”
What does Leviticus 23:3 mean?
God established a pattern built into creation itself: six days of labor, then one day of complete rest. This wasn't just a nice suggestion or a day off for catching up on chores, but a sacred boundary meant to protect your body, mind, and spirit from endless work. The Sabbath was to be honored everywhere, in every home, equally for everyone, because rest itself is an act of obedience and worship to God. When we stop working and simply be, we're acknowledging that the world doesn't depend on our constant effort, and we're trusting God to sustain what matters.
